Prison Breakで脚光を浴び、ハリウッドスターへと駆け上ったWentworth Milleが先日シアトルで行われたHuman Rights Campaign Dinnerで
とても勇気のあるスピーチを行っています。
彼が語った’’人間の権利’’
彼が15歳の時に自ら命を断とうとした事
彼は泣くことは出来なかったと、それは泣いて救われるなら泣いて助けを求めていたと。
同性愛者である事を家族と友人にだけ伝えていた事
ハリウッドスターという地位を同性愛者と公表することによってレッテルをはられることに怯えていた事
ロシアから国際映画祭の招待状を同性愛者だという理由で断った事
私はファンの一人として彼の持つ権利や価値観は彼を支援するファンからは今後も変わらない事。
表現の自由、人を愛する権利は誰にでも公平に与えられた権利だと思います。
